Intermediate Handgun Course

The Intermediate Handgun Course is set up as to where courses are scheduled for one to five days in length. The Intermediate Handgun Course is designed for individuals with previous firearms training to learn safe use of handguns and to experience marksmanship training. Both Revolver and Semi-Auto shooters receive the same training as training techniques apply to both types of weapons equally. 

Training is designed to give each student as much maximum exposure to practical and defensive shooting techniques as possible. Shooting exercises include Close Quarter Combat shooting and also long range precision shooting, shooting from cover, strong and weak hand shooting and engaging targets while moving. 

Students who complete this course will be administered a Qualification Course and with a passing score of 70% will receive an Academy Course Completion Certificate.

Equipment Needed
  • A quality handgun, Revolver or Semi-Auto, 38 calibers or bigger.
  • Speedloaders are allowed for revolver shooters.
  • Semi-Auto Shooters will need a minimum of three magazines.
  • Eye and Ear Protection will be mandatory and can be purchased at the Academy Range.
  • 300 rounds of handgun ammunition will be needed for each day of instruction and if the class runs an entire week, 1500 rounds of ammunition will be needed for the course.
